Baseball Cancels Saturday Game, Set for Sunday Doubleheader

Due to rain, Western baseball canceled its game on Saturday (2/21) and plans to play a doubleheader Sunday (2/22) against Middle Tennessee State

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Due to a wintry-mix of rain and snow traveling through the Nashville area, Western Illinois baseball has canceled its game, Saturday, against Middle Tennessee State, head coach Ryan Brownlee announced Saturday (Feb. 21) morning. The Leathernecks are now scheduled to open their season with a doubleheader on Sunday (Feb. 22) starting at 1 p.m. in Murfreesboro, Tennessee against the Blue Raiders.

Fans can still listen to all the action on the Leatherneck Sports Network through Leatherneck All-Access by going to GoLeathernecks.com/watch. A variety of packages are available for purchase including one-day, one-month and full season packages.

Earlier in the week an arctic front dropping ice and snow across the south forced WIU to cancel its games against Lipscomb and Belmont while many other schools were also forced to cancel, postpone or change venues.
