DENVER, Colo. – Western Illinois men's tennis saw its season come to a close during the opening round of the Summit League Championships. The Leathernecks dropped a 4-0 decision to IUPUI on Friday afternoon (April 25).

Mitch Granger and Brandon Meeker battled in number two doubles but eventually fell 4-8. Chris Bunch and Brett Furmanski lost 1-8 at the number three doubles. Christoph Haertel and Max Cederkall went unfinished at number one doubles.

The 4-6 singles were the first to complete and close out the match. Meeker lost 2-6, 1-6 at number four. Bunch fell 2-6, 0-6 at number five while Furmanski lost 2-6, 1-6 at number six.

Haertel (#1), Granger (#2) and Cederkall (#3) had their singles match go unfinished.

Western (2-16 overall) returns the top five in singles play next season.
