CORBONDALE, Ind. – The Western Illinois men's tennis squad continued its spring season at Southern Illinois Saturday (April 12), falling to the Salukis 7-0. After the loss, the Leathernecks drop to 1-15 on the season, while SIU improves to 9-10.

The Leathernecks dropped every set in both singles and doubles action as SIU's Jorge Cavero downed Christoph Haertel (6-0, 6-1), Michal Kianicka defeated Mitch Granger (6-2, 6-4), Max Cederkall was upended Szymon Opieczonek (6-0, 6-0),  Brandon Meeker was defeated by Rafael Cuafrillero (6-1, 6-2), Jeremy Dixon downed Chris Bunch (6-3, 6-1), and Brett Furmanski lost to Filip Aleksic (6-3, 6-1).

Southern Illinois also swept doubles competition, with the combination of Haertel and Cederkall falling 8-2, Granger and Meeker dropping their match 8-2, and Bunch and Furmanski losing 8-2.

Western returns to action tomorrow (April 13), playing host to Chicago State in Galesburg, Ill. The final regualr season match is slated to begin at 10 a.m. inside the Lakeside Recreation Facility.
