MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois men's tennis travels to Rockford, Ill. for two matches on Saturday (Feb. 25). The first against Northern Illinois begins at 2 p.m., while the second matchup against Dayton is set to begin at 6 p.m.
"I'm looking forward to this weekend," head coach Chris Kane said. "Northern Illinois we played against in the fall and were very competitive with them having a very good showing. Unfortunately, four of the players we had in the fall are no longer with us due to injury, so that changes things dramatically."
The dual against Dayton marks the first meeting between the two teams in Kane's tenure.
"This is a good opportunity to play a good team," Kane added. "Dayton is a strong team year after year so I expect a good challenge with them as well."
The Leathernecks have a current record of 1-4, while Northern Illinois and Dayton stand at 6-2 and 2-5, respectively.
