MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois swimming and diving met defeat at the IUPUI Quad Friday (January 20) in Indianapolis, Ind. The women fell to IUPUI 97-13, Saint Louis 100-10 and Xavier 81-17, and the men had the same fate to IUPUI 74-39, Saint Louis 88-25 and Xavier 86-25.
Highlighting meet action was freshman diver Doug Ogilvie. His efforts brought home individual titles in both One Meter Six Dive and Three Meter Six Dive competition.
Sophomore Jonathan Bond earned a fourth place overall finish in his 200 Back season debut, while freshman Tyler Neaveill continued to drop his season top time in 50 Free competition, earning the fifth place spot.
Men's 400 Free Relay and 400 Medley Relay also recorded top five finishes placing fourth and fifth, respectively.
In women's competition, sophomore Julia Rassmussen earned the highest finish for the Leathernecks taking third in 100 Free with a season personal record of 55.52.
Women's 400 Free Relay took fourth overall and 400 Medley Relay earned a fifth place finish to round out top five performances.
The Leathernecks dive back into competition on Saturday, January 28 at home in Brophy Pool. The dual meet against Wisconsin-Milwaukee is slated to begin at noon.
