Alayna Colley was the story of the weekend for the Leathernecks as she broke the 15-year-old school record in the 100-yard Backstroke. Colley had previously ranked third and fourth on the all-time list. Her time of 57.99 was good for sixth place. Colley also competed in the 50-yard Freestyle and registered a season-best time of 24.45 and finished in eighth place.
Head coach Greg Naumann was pleased with his team's performance.
"We had a great conference meet, said Naumann. We had a lot of in-season best times and lifetime bests. We just had some awesome swims across the board. Even though we had a lot of injuries throughout the team and season, they still competed to the best their abilities. Our relays stepped up and out performed my expectations. I know that the team always drops times, but as a collective group on relays, they went above and beyond."
Conor Ozog was strong on the men's side as recorded a career best time in the 100-yard Breastroke. His time of 59.96 placed him 11th and is the first time he has gone under a minute this season.
This event was the final action for several seniors for the Leathernecks. Jeff Davis, Phil Kurz, Mike Regan, David Rilott, Molly Carrignan and Colley all finish their career as Leathernecks.
