KIRKSVILLE, Mo.
- The Western Illinois swimming and diving program was swept at Truman State
University on Saturday.
Both squads lost 131-47 to the Bulldogs.
"This meet was harder than most because of the 1650 and the
400 IM," said head coach Greg Naumann. "I look for the team to continue to
get stronger as the season continues, and to be able to have some more top
swims against opponents."
Shawn Fitzpatrick and Alayna Colley had strong finishes for
the women's squad. Colley finished second (2:16.75) in the 200 Yard Backstroke
and Fitzpatrick placed third (2:02.91) in the 200 Yard Freestyle.
Fitzpatrick, Colley, Jamie Grau and Jessica Schnaiter placed
second (1:45.79) in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, and finished fourth (4:19.78)
