Kyle Glazier Named to CSN Honorable Mention FCS Fabulous Fifty

MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois University junior linebacker Kyle Glazier (Geneseo/Geneseo) earned Honorable Mention All-America status by the College Sporting News. The award is part of the CSN's 2009 Football Championship Subdivision Fabulous Fifty All-American Team.

One of Western's five team captains, Glazier was named the Leathernecks' Defensive 'Most Valuable Player' in addition to his Second Team All-Missouri Valley Football Conference honor.

Glazier started in all 11 games leading the team averaging 10.9 tackles per game, good for ninth in the nation. He ended his junior year with 120 tackles, 7.0 tackles for a loss, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and three pass break-ups.

On seven occasions he recorded 11 or more tackles, paced by a season-high 16 stops at Indiana State. Glazier twice recorded 13 tackles and made 12 stops in consecutive games (at Northern Iowa, vs. South Dakota State) to close out the season.

Glazier was also honored for his work in the classroom, earning First Team Acadaemic All-MVFC honors and receiving the program's Robert Blaha, Sr. Scholarship Award.
