MILWAUKEE- The Western Illinois men's tennis team dropped a pair of matches to Marquette and Northwestern each by a score of 7-0.
Against the Golden Eagles, the Leathernecks (0-2) dropped all three doubles matches. At No. 1 doubles, seniors
Neil Lesinski and
Sean Ragee-Nelson fought a tough match but fell 8-5 to Marquette's Trent Hagan and Stephan Shao.
In singles play, senior
Zach Frisch dropped a close match to Hagan, 6-4, 6-4, at No. 1 singles. Fellow senior
Andy Jones also played a close match, dropping a 6-2, 7-5 decision to Drake Kakar.
Against the Wildcasts, Lesinski and Ragee-Nelson pulled out the only win for Western, taking an 8-3 decision at No. 1 doubles. However, the other two teams were unable to pull out the doubles point for the Leathernecks.
In singles play, Frisch again played the closest match, dropping his No. 1 singles contest, 6-2, 6-4, to Marc Dwyer of Northwestern.
