DES MOINES, Iowa - In a battle between two participants from last year's NCAA Men's Tennis Tournament, Western Illinois fell to Drake, 7-0, as the Bulldogs recorded their fourth consecutive win and their 25th straight at home.
At No. 1 singles, Western's Martin Bostrom was down 6-4, 6-1 to Dalibor Pavic, who had cracked the Intercollegiate Tennis Association rankings earlier this week at No. 96, when he was forced to retire in the second set.
The Leathernecks (1-4) will face South Dakota State (12:30 p.m.) and Creighton (6 p.m.) in Omaha, Neb., Saturday.
