CHICAGO, Ill. ? The Western Illinois men's tennis team fell to nationally-ranked DePaul, 6-1, Sun. Feb. 11th, at Lakeshore Athletics Club in Chicago, Ill.
In singles play, junior Martin Boström fell to DePaul's sophomore Alex Doermer, 6-0, 7-6 (4) at No. 1. At No. 3 senior Justin Junck took the win over the Blue Demons freshman Vanja Gregc in a tie breaker set, 3-6, 7-6 (4), (11-9). Sophomore Sean Ragee-Nelson lost 3-6, 7-5,(10-8) to sophomore Danny Wilson at No. 5. Leatherneck senior Drew Forsberg and junior Michael Tiu lost to Wilson and Gregc at No. 3 doubles, 8-4.
“The weekend was a good barometer for us,” said Western Illinois Head Men's Tennis Coach. “We finished up the weekend against a tough DePaul team, where Justin Junck won a big come from behind match.”
The men next take on the Bradley Braves Friday, Feb. 16th, at 5 p.m. in Peoria, Ill.
