Western Illinois men's golfer Andrew Blackburn (Sterling, Ill./Sterling) has been named Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week Monday (April 6) for his performance on the course this past week, and continued success in the classroom.

Blackburn finished atop Western's team standings with a 225 in the 2015 Bradley Invitational which took place April 3-4. Blackburn finished tied for 12th overall and tallied single-round scores of 76, 76 and 73. 

As a team, the Fighting Leatherneck men's golf squad finished fifth with a 960 after posting marks of 297, 303 and 305.

This season the sophomore has competed in all eight of WIU's events, 22 total rounds, and ranks second on the team in stroke average, 77.64. His low round on the year is 68, and he has had three 'Top 5' finishes this season.
