After an illustrious performance at The 2016 Summit League Championships, Chris Neaveill has been named Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week.Â
Neaveill rumbled to a 47.40 touch in the 100-fly, becoming the first Western Illinois Summit League Championships swimming league champion since 2007. He also set another school record by racing to a 48.77 time in the preliminaries of the 100-back. He finished fourth in the finals.
Named a Summit League All-Conference performer, Neaveill helped the 200-medley (1:30.07) and 400-medley (3:18.85) relay teams to school records. Meanwhile, his 200-free relay squad fell less than a half-second shy of the school record, which he currently has as part of a 2014 relay.
The junior from Germantown Hills, Ill. has earned a 3.07 GPA while majoring in Supply Chain Management.
