After helping lead Western Illinois softball to a Summit League series win last weekend, sophomore Kelsey Marlow has been tabbed the Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week.
 
In Saturday’s 8-7 victory over South Dakota State, she went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored one run. She was just a home run short of hitting for the cycle.
 
Marlow recorded a batting average of .500 over the three-game series (6-for-12). The Terre Haute, Indiana native garnered six hits, including two doubles and a triple. She also drove in two runs and stole one base.
 
One the year, Marlow has improved to .323 batting average with a .484 slugging percentage and currently has a career-high six game hitting streak.
 
Marlow boasts a 3.78 cumulative GPA majoring in psychology.
