Junior Mallory Boyle has been named the Hampton Inn Scholar-Athlete of the Week on Monday, November 23, for her efforts on the court and in the classroom.
On Thursday, November 19th, Boyle had her best game as a Leatherneck in WIU's overtime loss to No. 23 Iowa. A native of New Sharon, Iowa, Boyle tallied a career-best 12 points and nine rebounds in a career-high 35 points against the home state Hawkeyes. Boyle followed the performance with a seven point, six rebound effort in a 38-point victory over Chicago State.
Boyle has started all four games for the Leathernecks this season, the first starts of her career. On the year she has averaged 5.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.3 assists a game.
The junior has also excelled in the classroom as she has a 3.7 cumulative GPA in biology and was a 2015 Summit League Spring Academic Honor Roll and Distinguished Scholar.
