Why did you choose to attend Western Illinois University?
I chose Western because it is a smaller, rural school that had Division I sports programs. My sister also attended WIU a few years ago. I came to Western undecided and now am majoring in renewable energy and wind technology.

Do you prefer competing in the outdoor or indoor season? 
I like indoor for the nice facilities, but outdoor I can throw both shot put and javelin, so I prefer outdoor. 

When did you start throwing, and is there an event that's your favorite? 
I started throwing in the 6th grade and threw shot and discus all through junior high and high school. Then I converted to just shot and javelin in college. I’m torn between those two. I really can’t pick a favorite. Shot put had always been my passion, but javelin still feels new and exciting to me.

What's one piece of technology you can't live without? 
I couldn’t live without my phone. I use it a lot for taking pictures and have captured a lot of great memories with it.

If you had to eat one meal every day for the rest of your life what would it be? 
One meal for the rest of my life would be a burger, fries, and a Pepsi from Grump’s back in Streator (Ill.).
