MACOMB, IL. — The Western Illinois University men's soccer program has officially announced the 2026 fall schedule, featuring a competitive slate of nonconference matchups and conference battles across the Midwest and beyond.
The Leathernecks will kick off their 2026 campaign on August 22 when they host Quincy University, marking the team's first official contest following a pair of preseason exhibitions. Western Illinois will tune up with exhibition matches on August 12 against Clarke University and August 17 against Indian Hills, giving the squad an early opportunity to build chemistry before the regular season begins.
Following the opener, the Leathernecks will hit the road against DePaul University on August 27 before returning home on August 30 to compete against the University of Illinois-Springfield. The early September stretch continues with matches against Bradley (Sept. 2), Green Bay (Sept. 5), and the University of Illinois-Chicago (Sept. 10).
Conference play intensifies later in the month as the Leathernecks travel to Eastern Illinois on Sept. 26 and SIUE on Oct. 1.
The Leathernecks will navigate a demanding October schedule that includes Southern Indiana (Oct. 4), another matchup with Eastern Illinois (Oct. 8), Lindenwood (Oct. 11), and Houston Christian (Oct. 15). The home stretch continues with contests against Incarnate Word (Oct. 18), a road trip to UTRGV (Oct. 24), and a late-season clash against SIUE (Oct. 29) at home.
Western Illinois closes out the regular season on November 1 with a road matchup at Southern Indiana, a game that could carry postseason implications.
The 2026 schedule features a balanced mix of home and away contests, highlighted by key conference rivalries and strong regional opponents. With a full preseason and challenging slate ahead, the Leathernecks look to build momentum and compete for a postseason berth.
