Western Illinois Baseball First Pitch Dinner Raises Over $26,000 in Support of Program

MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois Baseball's First Pitch Dinner, held January 31 at Park Place in partnership with OVC Baseball, proved to be a major success, raising significant support for the Leatherneck program while bringing together the WIU baseball community.

The annual kickoff event generated $26,580.00 in total funds, with $22,138.07 raised after expenses to directly benefit Western Illinois Baseball. Approximately 200 supporters attended the evening, which featured dinner, program remarks, and opportunities for fans, alumni, parents, and friends to connect with the team ahead of the 2026 season.

The First Pitch Dinner serves as a celebration of the upcoming season and a key fundraising event that supports the continued growth and success of the program. Proceeds help enhance the student-athlete experience and provide resources for team development.

The Leathernecks are set to open their 2026 campaign this spring and look forward to carrying the momentum from a strong offseason into competition.
