MACOMB, IL- The Western Illinois Men's Golf team wrapped up the Zach Johnson Invitational this afternoon, finishing the event in 8th place as a team with a total score of 884 (+58).
Owen Howe led the Leathernecks in scoring, finishing the tournament at -3 to place 3rd overall. Howe's best round came on Tuesday, when he closed out the event with a 2-under 69 to climb into the top three.
Mateo Rascon followed just behind, finishing at +7 and tying for 25th. Rascon's best performance came in the final round as well, where he shot a 70, highlighted by steady play across the back nine. Maverick Schwabe posted a +15 for the tournament, followed by Easton Korell at +19 and Julian Roman Ortiz at +20.
The Leathernecks are back in action September 29-30 when they travel to Edwardsville, Illinois, to compete in the SIUE Invitational.
