MACOMB, Ill.- The Western Illinois Women's Golf Team has signed two standout student-athletes to its 2026 recruiting class. The Leathernecks welcome Birna Rut Snorradottir and Laura Cheng Milsgaard, two experienced competitors who will make an immediate impact on the program.
Snorradottir comes to Macomb from Mosfellsbær, Iceland, and will graduate from Gleraskoli this spring. She has built a strong competitive record, placing 5th in the Icelandic National Adult Tour during her senior season. She also won the GM Elite Tournament as a junior, and earned GM and NK Elite titles as a sophomore. Her consistency and success on the course provide a strong foundation as she transitions to collegiate play.
Milsgaard joins the Leathernecks from Copenhagen, Denmark, and will graduate from Borupgaard Gymnasium in June. A member of Smørum Golf Club, she qualified for the Danish national championships in 2024 and earned top-three finishes in three of the seven tournaments she competed in. Milsgaard chose Western Illinois for the opportunity to continue developing her game, noting that the facilities, coaching staff, and team culture made WIU the right environment for her growth as both a student and athlete.
