MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois Women's Bowling program has added two standout student-athletes to its 2026 recruiting class on National Signing Day. The Leathernecks welcome Brooke Stroud and Allison Sapp, two experienced competitors who will strengthen the foundation of WIU's developing program.
Stroud joins the Leathernecks from Lockport, Illinois, where she competed in both bowling and volleyball at Lockport Township High School. During her prep career, she helped lead her team to a first-place finish at the IHSA Girls Bowling State Championships her freshman year and a third-place finish as a sophomore, while also qualifying for regional individual championships as a junior. On the volleyball court, Stroud contributed to back-to-back conference titles as an underclassman and has played club volleyball since 2016. Outside of athletics, she has participated in the National Honor Society, the Great Books Club, Girl Scouts, and FCA. Stroud chose Western Illinois to pursue the Law Enforcement program and to continue her bowling career in a supportive campus environment.
Sapp, a native of Hamilton, Illinois, comes to WIU after competing for Keokuk High School, where she was part of the Class 2A Girls Bowling State Championship teams in both her sophomore and junior seasons. She selected Western Illinois to compete at the Division I level and for the opportunity to be coached by her father, head coach Derek Sapp.
