Leatherneck Baseball Releases Fall Season Schedule

MACOMB, IL- Western Illinois Head Coach Terry Davis and the Leatherneck baseball team announced their 2025 fall schedule. WIU will stay home this fall as they are set to host two Illinois schools.

 

The Leathernecks open up the fall season on Sunday, October 12, against Southwestern Illinois Community College. They finish up the fall season with a battle against Black Hawk Community College on October 19. 

 

Western Illinois Baseball team brings on 34 players, with 29 from last year's squad, headlined by Liam Bushey, who made the All-OVC Second Team, and Kenneth Perez, who made the OVC All-Freshman Team. Bushey recorded 34 runs for the 2025 season and 38 RBIs. Bushey batted an average of .340 with an OPS of .886 and an on-base percentage of .436.

 

Perez recorded 29 runs, with 24 RBIs. Perez batted an average of .268 with an OPS of .740 and an on-base percentage of .740.

 

The Leathernecks also welcome five newcomers to the 2026 squad, one freshman and four transfers. Coach Davis also welcomes a new assistant coaching team, with former Leatherneck baseball player Brock Lummus, former Inland Empire 66ers player Will Christophersen, and former coach from Charleston Southern, Josh Merrigan.
