Yorktown, IN - The Western Illinois Women's Golf team finished in 10th place at the Brittany Kelly Classic shooting 923 (+59). In the final round, the Leathernecks shot 300 as a team which is tied for the best round they've shot so far this fall.
Mia Scrimgeour and Abby Hunter both shot a 75 (+3) in round three. Hunter had 2 birdies and an eagle on the back nine, while Scrimgeour had 2 birdies on the front nine in the third round. Gabriela Galindo Rubio shot a 77 (+5) and Olivia McCrystal shot a 89 (+17) to end the tournament.
Olivia Kerr finished the tournament T14 (+7) to lead WIU. After shooting a 78 in round one, Kerr would shoot a 72 (E) in round two and a 73 (+1) in round three. She would have five birdies in round two, including back-to-back birdies on holes 16 and 17, finishing with a back nine score of 34 (-2). In round three, Kerr would have two birdies and one eagle on the back nine shooting a 35 (-1).
WIU is off next week, but will travel to Omaha, Nebraska the following week for the Big O Classic on September 30 and October 1.
