Macomb, Ill- The Western Illinois baseball team released their 2025 schedule today which features 13 of their first 15 games on the road to start the 2025 campaign. Western Illinois will have two trips down South during the first three weeks of the season. 

The Leathernecks will travel to Mississippi Valley State to open their season on Feb. 14-16 before heading out West to face New Mexico State on Feb. 21-23. Their final non conference  trip down South will take place a week later when they travel to Alabama State February 28 - March 2.

WIU's first home game at Alfred D. Boyer Stadium will be played two days later as a part of   back-to-back home games on March 4 and 5. Their home opener will be against Northwest Missouri State on the fourth followed by Simpson College on the fifth. 

The first power five matchup of the year for the Leathernecks will come against the University of Illinois on March 11th in Champaign, Ill. Following the game against Illinois, WIU will have a home-and-home series with Illinois State on March 13-16 with the first two contests being played at home. 

The first Ohio Valley Conference series for WIU will be held in Macomb as they will host Southern Indiana on March 21-23. The Leathernecks will then travel to SEMO on March 28-30 before playing a mid week game at the University of Saint Louis on Tuesday, April 1. The team will return home to play Tennessee Tech on April 4-6 before traveling to UT Martin on April 11-13. WIU will stay on the road as they will then travel to Little Rock on April 17-19. Their second power five game of the season will be played on April 22 as they will play the University of Iowa in Iowa City. 

The Leathernecks have a favorable end to their season as they will close out the month of April with four straight home games including three games against Lindenwood on April 25-27 and one game against Bradley on April 30. 
 

WIU will stay in Illinois for the whole month of May starting with a road trip to SIUE on May 2-4. The Leathernecks will host Morehead State on May 9-11 before hosting a mid week game on May 13 against Saint Louis. The final games of the year will be played at EIU on May 15-17 to end the season.
