WIU Baseball Raises over $25,000 at Annual Golf Outing Fundraiser

MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois University baseball team raised an impressive $25,410 at their annual fall golf outing, held on Saturday, September 21. The outing was held at Harry Mussatto Golf Course on the campus of WIU. The total amount raised at this year's outing set a record for the baseball team for the second consecutive year, beating last year's amount by nearly $4,000.

"As we continue to build a program here in Macomb it is very important that we make improvements as we go," said Head Baseball Coach Terry Davis.  "This event helps us to get one step closer to our goals, and sets us up to be competitive with our OVC peers. Thank you to everyone who attended or supported in any way. Your support is needed and, most importantly, appreciated. Go Necks!"

The money raised will be allocated to various aspects of the baseball program, including upgrading training facilities, purchasing equipment, and new software to aid in player development and recruiting. Davis is committed to developing the next generation of Leatherneck Baseball, both on and off the field, and this successful fundraiser is a testament to that commitment.

WIU Athletics and Leatherneck Baseball would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the participants, sponsors, and volunteers who made this event a success. Their support is invaluable and greatly appreciated.
