WIU Wraps Up Brittany Kelly Classic

| By:
MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois Women's golf team finished their second fall tournament at the Brittany Kelly Classic on Tuesday (Sept. 19). The Leathernecks finished in 13th place.

Natalie Hooper entered the tournament as WIU's number-one golfer and showed why. The senior led WIU with a +14 finish. Natalie got the ball rolling in the second half of her second round. She would find two birdies to help her shoot -1 in her final nine holes. Hooper would keep the momentum rolling into the third round. She would bury three birdies, including back-to-back birdies on 14 and 15, to help her shoot +1 (73). Hooper was aggressive on the par fives as she tied for second on the average score on par fives in the tournament.

The Leathernecks other senior, Olivia Kerr, also had an impressive third round. Back-to-back birdies put Kerr two under through her first three holes. After a double bogey, Kerr would par the next 13 out of 14 holes to finish +1 (73) on the day.

Western Illinois will take the next couple of weeks off before returning to the course at The Big O classic on Oct. 2
