Rodriguez Named OVC Co-Goalkeeper of Week

Rodriguez Recorded a Clean Sheet vs. Chicago State on Sunday

BRENTWOOD, TN -- WIU Goalkeeper Isabel Navas Rodriguez was named Ohio Valley Conference Co-Goalkeeper following the opening week of the 2023 season, the conference announced on Tuesday, Aug. 22. Rodriguez recorded three saves over 2 games, and getting a clean sheet vs. Chicago St. on Sunday. 

Rodriguez recorded a game-sealing save against the Cougars, ensuring the Leathernecks would get their first win of the season.

Head Coach Josée Primeau had nothing but positive things to say about the keeper, saying "Isabel did very well over the weekend during our Chicago State game. She's worked extremely hard this preseason and to see her keep a clean sheet was a great way to end the weekend."

The Leathernecks will play Northern Iowa at home on Thursday, Aug. 22 at 5:30 P.M.
