Hofer, Colley, and Brown off to Ole Miss
While the rest of the team is in Charleston this weekend, Ackeen Colley, Richard Brown, and Lucas Hofer will compete in the Joe Walker Invitational. The three are registered in different sections of the men's 800-meter race.

Spectators are allowed to attend the meet and are asked to wear masks and maintain social distancing.

EIU Big Blue Classic
The Leathernecks return to Eastern Illinois for the second time this spring when it competes in the Big Blue Classic. The event was originally scheduled for two days, but due to impending weather will now run solely on Friday.

Spectators are not allowed inside the venue.

Rewriting the Record Books
Fresh off record-setting indoor seasons, Colley and Amelia Peterson kept their momentum rolling into the season's first outdoor meet. The two left the Joey Haines Invite champions in their respective events while also setting a few all-time marks along the way.

Peterson notched three personal records in Cape Girardeau, two of which earned her a spot on the WIU all-time list. Her 12.58-meter triple jump, which placed first at the meet, sits third best in Western's rankings and a 5.91-meter long long jump ties for seventh. She also posted a PR in the 100-meter dash (12.20), where she finished ninth overall.

Colley earned first place in the 1,500-meter and almost broke Western's men's outdoor record in the process. The Lucea, Jamaica, native's time (3:49.91) placed him second on the Leathernecks' all-time list.

Summit League Rankings

The Summit League's 2021 outdoor performance list features three Leathernecks in the 'Top 10' of four events.
