Leathernecks Eye Tuesday Tilt at SIUE

Western is currently working a three-game winning streak against the Cougars.

Three in a Row: The Leathernecks are eying their fourth straight win over SIUE this Tuesday, and have outscored the Cougars, 26-15, over the stretch. 

Last year's home/away series favored the Purple & Gold by scores of 8-2 and 4-3. 

Western's Last Outing: Western claimed its second Summit League series sweep in 14-4, 4-2 and 10-0 victories over Purdue Fort Wayne. 

•    Diego Munoz led the offense with a .667 batting average (6-for-9) with a team-high six RBI and five runs
•    Neither Javin Drake nor Jack Carberry surrendered a single run in their weekend starts; the former went seven innings with a career-high 10 strikeouts and the latter six innings with six strikeouts and just three hits 
•    Steve McShane crowned both run-rule walk-offs with 2-RBI singles; game one finished in eight innings and the series finale seven
•    Western recorded a season-high 17 hits in the series opener; the 14 runs also marked the most put up against a Division I opponent this season 
•    The Leathernecks are currently working a six-game winning streak against the Mastodons

Back-to-Back: For the first time under the direction of head coach Ryan Brownlee, the Leathernecks clinched back-to-back Summit League sweeps in home sets against Oral Roberts (April 5-7) and Purdue Fort Wayne (April 12-13). 

Prior to this season's set against WIU, the Golden Eagles had never been swept in league play. 

Next Up: Western begins the second half of its Summit League schedule with trips at South Dakota State (April 19-21) and North Dakota State (April 26-28).
