Riley Hansen Inks with Western

The Neponset, Ill., native signed with the Western Illinois women's golf program

MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois Director of Golf Lia Biehl Lukkarinen announced the signing of Riley Hansen on Friday (Nov. 15).

"Riley will be a fantastic addition to our team," Biehl Lukkarinen said. "Her length off the tee will transition well to Division I golf. Riley is an incredible competitor who has the ability to step in and make an immediate impact on our program. I'm thrilled that she is signing with us as she has a bright future as a Leatherneck."

Hansen will come to the Leathernecks from Kewanee High School, where she was a four-time conference medalist, IHSA Class 1A regional medalist and three-time state medalist. She finished in eighth place as a freshman (163) and a senior (150). She was the runner-up at state her sophomore year after firing a 152 total.

She repeated as both the Dispatch/Argus Golfer of the Year and Bureau County Republican Golfer of the Year during the final two seasons of her prep career.

The Kewanee Boilermaker will become a Leatherneck for the 2020-21 season.
