MACOMB, Ill. –
A total of 16 personal records were broken by Western Illinois on the final day of the 28th Annual Lee Calhoun Memorial Invitational.

"Overall we had a great day. It was the kind of day that we have needed throughout the outdoor season," said Western Illinois head coach Mike Stevenson. "We had a huge number of event champions and some very good performances. The high winds hampered a lot of efforts from every team, but our kids were focused and competed hard the whole day, and you can see it in the placing."

The women's team broke a total of 10 personal records, beginning with Jasmine Brown, who took home a pair of first-place finishes. She set a new Lee Calhoun record of 42'-4" (12.90 meters) in the triple jump and a season-best in the long jump (5.97 meters, 19'-7").

Alyssa Johnson set a new personal-best of 2:09.71 to win the 800-meter run. Jacqlynn Finney followed Johnson with a time of 2:22.14 for a fourth-place finish. In the women's 100-meter dash, Kaliyah Cobb (11.97) and Khalyia Lawson (12.26) took first and second place, respectively. Cobb also finished runner-up in the women's 200-meter dash (24.90).

Nicole Beebe and Madison Lefler also took home first and second place in the women's 5,000 with times of 19:07.09 and 19:20.49, respectively. For the women's 1,500, Jacey Rober recorded a third-place finish, shattering her old personal record of 5:17.07 with a new time of 4:59.46. Rachel Hilton also set a personal record with a time of 1:19.86 and came out victorious in the women's 400-meter run. Abigail Richter also recorded a first-place finish in the women's 3,000-meter Steeplechase with a time of 12:01.01.

The quartet of Cobb, Lawson, Bo Brasseur and Sierra Woods earned first and also set a team personal record of 47.35 in the women's 4x100 meter relay. Western also won the women's 4x400 meter relay as Johnson, Cobb, Brasseur and Woods (3:54.08). Allison Richter set a new personal record in the women's discus (39.72 meters/130'-4") for fourth place.

Malachi Adams (first/10.41) and Charles Morrow (10.68) both rounded out the top-2 for the men's 100-meter dash, and the trio of Adams (21.30), Tyler Younkin (21.52) and Morrow (21.80) all finished first, second and third in the men's 200.
