Cross Country and Track and Field to Host Informational Meeting and Tryouts

Informational meeting (August 24) and tryouts (September 1) to be held for prospective student-athletes

MACOMB, Ill. – The Western Illinois cross country and track and field programs has scheduled an informational meeting and tryouts for prospective student-athletes. The meeting will take place on August 24 at 7 p.m. in Waggoner Hall room 003. Tryouts are slated for the following week on September 1 at 3:30 p.m. at Hanson Field. Current track and field student-athletes are expected to attend the meeting as well.

Students will have the opportunity to learn more about the cross country and track and field programs and requirements for participation. Expectations, team policies and goals will also be discussed.

In order to participate in the tryout, the prospective athlete must be enrolled full-time at WIU, a campus physical exam must be completed and student-athlete medical paperwork must be filed.
