MACOMB, IL – The Western Illinois University cross country team hits the road for their second meet this Friday, heading east to Illinois State University to run in the Redbird Invite.
Running starts with the men's 8K at 9 a.m. with the women's 6K to follow at 9:45 a.m.

LAST WEEK | At last week's Huskie Opener at Northern Illinois University, the Leatherneck men and women both finished 2nd overall.Â
On the men's side, Robert Perry led the way with a third-place finish in the 6K (18:46.64), setting a new personal record. Logan Beckmier followed close behind in sixth (19:14.40, PR), while Brody Harker (13th, 20:12.69) and Evan Eberhart (14th, 20:21.27) helping push WIU into second overall.
The women also impressed in the 5K, led by Lydia Bennett, who ran a personal-best 18:46.30 to place sixth. Emma-Kate Watt finished 11th (19:10.8), with Deana Hudson (14th, 19:17.51) and Aylana Cezar (15th, 19:20.60) all finishing in the top 15 to secure the runner-up team spot.
