O'FALLON, Ill. – Western Illinois women's tennis dropped its season-opening match to Saint Louis 7-0 on Sunday (Jan. 26). The match was played at the St. Clair Tennis Club.
Western dropped to 0-1 on the season while SLU improved to 1-2.
True-freshmen Jenna Wallace and Nicole Jones, playing in the first and second singles, respectively, took two games in the second set of their match. Holly Conlin lost 6-0, 6-1 in the third singles. Jessica Callahan, Ese Davis and Andriana Johnson lost 6-0, 6-0 in their singles match.
Conlin and Callahan lost 6-0 in their number two doubles match while Johnson and Jamee Hale lost 6-0 in the third doubles.
Western returns to action Thursday night (Jan. 30) at Bradley, scheduled for a 6 p.m. start.
