Kwaterski to serve as graduation marshal

MACOMB, Ill. — Western Illinois golfer Shane Kwaterski will serve as a graduation marshal during the undergraduate commencement ceremony Saturday, May 15 at Western Hall.

“This has been a tremendous honor for me to be selected as a marshal,” Kwaterski said. “I am glad I am able to represent the student-athlete body with this accomplishment. We work extremely hard in the classroom as well as on the field.”

Kwaterski will graduate summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in marketing after finishing with a 4.0 grade point average. He was also named the departmental scholar for the marketing department.

A three-time academic all-Summit League selection and a four-time honoree on the Summit League Commissioner's List for Academic Excellence, Kwaterski was named to the 2009 CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America third team.

A team captain for the Fighting Leathernecks, Kwaterski carried a stroke average of 78.5 per round throughout 51 career rounds.
