Rayvon Wright and Emma Kate-Watt Named May Student Athletes of the Month

MACOMB, Ill. – Western Illinois Athletics has announced its Student-Athletes of the Month for May, recognizing two Leathernecks who turned in outstanding performances at the conference championships.

On the men's side, Rayvon Wright of the track and field team earned the honor after an impressive showing at the conference meet. Wright captured the conference championship in the triple jump while also finishing as the conference runner-up in the high jump, helping lead the Leathernecks during the outdoor season.

Representing the women's side is Emma Kate-Watt from the cross country and track and field program. Watt claimed a conference championship in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, recording the third-fastest time in Western Illinois history. She also added a fifth-place finish in the 1,500 meters, capping off a strong championship performance.

Western Illinois Athletics congratulates Rayvon Wright and Emma Kate Watt on being named the May Student-Athletes of the Month for their accomplishments in competition and their continued representation of the Leathernecks.
