MACOMB, Ill. – Former Western Illinois standout and current Colorado Rapids defender Kosuke Kimura will look to lead his team to its first-ever MLS Cup Championship on Sunday, Nov. 21 against FC Dallas.

Kimura scored the game-winning goal in Colorado's semifinal match against San Jose on Nov. 13 to send the Rapids to the league finals. It was his first goal of the season and third of his career.

He has appeared in 74 career matches with Colorado since making his MLS debut against Real Salt Lake on Sept. 22, 2007. Kimura became the first Japanese-born player to play in the MLS when the Rapids drafted him in 2007.

Kimura was a two-time All-League selection during his time with the Fighting Leathernecks and helped lead the team to three-straight league titles from 2004-06.

Colorado and FC Dallas are set to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. (CT) on Sunday from BMO field in Toronto. The match can be seen live on ESPN and ESPN HD.
