Sandoval named Player of the Week
Western
Illinois senior midfielder Jonathan Sandoval earned Summit League Offensive Player of the Week honors after tallying four points on a goal and two assists last week. Sandoval notched an assist in a 1-1 tie against Valparaiso on Oct. 6 and scored the game-tying goal against IPFW on Oct. 9.
He was also credited with an assist on Daniel Lewis' game-winner in overtime against IPFW. Sandoval's efforts helped the Leathernecks earn their first league-win of the season. The award marks the second such honors of Sandoval's career.
