Richardson was a three-year starter for state champion Iowa City West High School, serving as team captain as a junior and senior. Richardson was a two-time all-conference and all-area selection and was named to the Des Moines Register all-state team. Richardson was named Player of the Year by the Mississippi Valley Conference and was the Iowa Class 4A Player of the Year. He was selected to play in the Iowa Shrine Bowl All-Star Game. On offense, Richardson rushed for 1,839 yards last season, averaging 7.8 yards per carry and 141 yards per game. He also caught 21 passes for 358 yards and scored 208 points on 34 touchdowns. On defense, Richardson was West's leading tackler the last two seasons, registering 156 stops in 1997 and 131 last year.
Russell was a three-year starter at Assumption, rushing for over 3,200 yards on 457 carries. In addition to averaging over 7.0 yards per carry, Russell also had over 600 receiving yards and played on defense, where he registered 248 tackles, nine interceptions and 10 fumble recoveries. Russell also punted for Assumption, averaging 37 yards per punt.
Harris was a two-time all-conference tailback at Rock Valley College who rushed for over 2,000 yards during his two-year career, averaging over 8.0 yards per carry.
Warren rushed for 505 yards and seven touchdowns on 72 carries last season and caught 12 passes for 245 yards and three scores. For his career, Warren rushed the ball 375 times for 2,089 yards and scored 176 points on 29 touchdowns. Warren also played linebacker at Denver, registering 80 tackles with four sacks and three fumble recoveries last year.
Goldstone comes to WIU from Naperville Central High School, who was a 6A playoff team last season.
