MADISON, Ill. – The Western Illinois men's golf team finished fourth at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational Tuesday, wrapping up the two-day tournament with a team score of seven-under par.
The Leathernecks posted a strong showing throughout the tournament, finishing four spots higher than their sixth-place finish at the ANF Fall Classic to open the season.
Owen Howe led Western Illinois for the second consecutive tournament, finishing tied for fourth individually at five-under par. Howe continued his strong start to the season after placing tied for 13th at the ANF Fall Classic.
Yuchin Chen and D'Arcy Whyte each finished the tournament at even par, helping the Leathernecks secure their fourth-place finish as a team.
The SIUE Dolenc Invitational marked the second tournament of the fall season for Western Illinois. The Leathernecks will return to action at the Zach Johnson Invitational, hosted by Drake.
