MACOMB, IL - The Western Illinois Men's Golf team returns to action Monday, Sept. 28, through Tuesday, Sept. 29, at the SIUE Dolenc Invitational in Madison, Illinois. Hosted by Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, the tournament marks the second of four fall tournaments for the Leathernecks.
Golf Course
The SIUE Dolenc Invitational will be played at Gateway National Golf Links in Madison, Illinois. The course is a par-71 layout that measures 6,985 yards. The 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Monday, Sept. 28, followed by the final 18 holes on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
Competition
Western Illinois will compete in a 17-team field that includes host SIUE, Tennessee Tech, Southern Utah, UT Martin, Tennessee State, Morehead State, Weber State, Indian Hills Community College, Missouri State, Northern Iowa, Bradley, Lindenwood, Bellarmine, Idaho, Southern Indiana and Eastern Illinois. Kansas State will also compete in the individual portion of the tournament.
LAST TIME OUT
The Leathernecks finished sixth at the ANF Fall Classic in Riverside, Iowa, opening the 2026-27 season with a 26-over-par team score. Owen Howe led Western Illinois individually, tying for 13th, while D'Arcy Whyte tied for 38th and Easton Korell tied for 42nd.
