MACOMB, IL - Leatherneck Men's and Women's Cross Country will have their first meet on Friday, September 4th at Northern Illinois.
The Leathernecks will have 14 Women and 9 Men competing, with the Women's 5k being at 6:15 PM and the Men's 6k being at 6:45 PM.
This season is one of great excitement for the Leathernecks, with Lydia Bennett being a returning All-OVC member, and Emma-Kate Watt and Eason Comer being named as runners to watch for the OVC this season.Â
Coach Matt Rosado had a lot to say about this upcoming season, with one of the things being, "We're incredibly excited to finally get the season started this Friday. Our athletes have put in a tremendous amount of work throughout the summer and preseason, and now they get the opportunity to compete and see that work pay off. There's a lot of energy and excitement within our team, and we're looking forward to getting out there, racing together, and setting the tone for what we hope will be a historic season."
Friday's meet will mark the beginning of the Leathernecks' 2026 campaign, as both teams look to set the tone for what promises to be an exciting season.
