MACOMB, Ill.- Western Illinois senior forward Mia Nicastro has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week following an outstanding week of play for the Leathernecks.

Nicastro currently ranks fourth in the NCAA in points per game and ninth in total points, continuing to establish herself as one of the nation's top scorers. She was instrumental in Western Illinois' success during the week, leading the team with consistent scoring and a strong presence in the paint.

In addition to her offensive production, Nicastro provided leadership on both ends of the floor, contributing defensively and on the boards while stepping up in key moments. Her efficient scoring and all-around impact helped propel the Leathernecks to important conference victories.

The weekly honor is another recognition of Nicastro's standout season, as she remains a cornerstone of the Western Illinois lineup and one of the top performers in the Ohio Valley Conference as league play continues.
