MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois Men's Golf Team headed to the Blue Hen Intercollegiate  hosted by the University of Delaware for their first fall tournament. The Leathernecks finished in 6th place out of the 12 teams, scoring +59.

In his Leatherneck debut, Julian Ortiz led WIU with an overall 226 (+10) score to finish T-16. Ortiz started with a 74 and then a 80 in round two. Labeyrie turned it up in the final round, posting an even par 72. 

Owen Howe was right there with Ortiz the entire tournament, as he finished with T-21. The sophomore from Johnston, IA posted an even first round before falling down the leaderboard in rounds two and three.

Mateo Rascon finished with a T-38 performance. The Burlington, Iowa native started with an even round 79 before posting a 77 and 77 in rounds two and three. Rascon finished with an overall score of 233 (+17)

Sophomore Maverick Schwabe finished with a T-53 score. Schwabe started with a score of 85 in his first round, and then posted 77 and 78 in rounds two and three. Schwabe finished with an overall score of 240 (+24)

Bettendorf, IA senior Nathan Tillman finished with a T-63 score. Tillman scored 81 in his first round, posting an 85 and 81 in rounds two and three. Tillman finished with a score of 247 (+31).

The Leathernecks are back in action on September 21-23 at the Drake Invitational.
