MACOMB, Ill. –Western Illinois women's basketball's Raegan McCowan was named Player of the Week following a standout performance in a pair of home victories for the Leathernecks.

McCowan delivered an efficient and impactful week, averaging 19.0 points and 6.0 rebounds while shooting better than 65 percent from the floor. The sophomore opened the week with a 21-point effort against Columbia College, going 10-for-16 from the field while adding seven rebounds in WIU's 75–37 win. She followed that performance with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting in a 90–41 victory over Omaha, helping the Leathernecks jump out to an early lead.

Her consistent scoring in the paint and ability to finish efficiently played a key role in Western Illinois' offensive success as the Leathernecks outscored their opponents by an average of 43.5 points during the week.

McCowan and the Leathernecks return to action later this week as WIU kicks off conference play against the Lindenwood Lions on December 18.
