Western Illinois Travels to Lone Star State

Last Time Out | The Western Illinois Men's golf team performed at the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate. The team finished in 12th place. Luke Lofgren led WIU finishing T25. Lofgren's best round was round three. Lofgren shot for four birdies in the round, helping him finish shooting 215 (+2). Coming off a top-five finish, Mateo Rascon led off with a birdie. Rascon had three birdies in round one and shot 71 (E) in round two. Rascon added eight more birdies in rounds two and three. Rascon finished T39, shooting 217 (+4).

Returning Big Names | Mateo Rascon will continue to look to build on what has been a strong spring season. Rascon had a top-five finish in the first spring tournament, the ASU Spring Classic, and finished T39 in the most recent tournament. Luke Lofgren has had two top-25 finishes so far this season, and Nathan Tillman is coming off of a top-15 finish at the ASU Spring Classic. 

Golf Course | The Big Texan is being played at Riverhill Country Club. The course is a par 72 that plays 7,137 yards. It is a three-round tournament. Rounds one and two will be on Mar. 25, while round three will be on Mar. 26. 

Competition | UTRGV, Texas A&M-Commerce, Southeastern Louisiana, Abilene Christian, Houston Christian, New Orleans, Western Illinois, Stephen F. Austin, Tarleton State, Weber State, Seton Hall, Incarnate Word, Midland College, Ranger College, and New Mexico JC.
