The Leathernecks host 19 home games at Mary Ellen McKee Stadium this year, highlighting the schedule.

MACOMB, Ill. - Western Illinois University Softball announced its 2025 schedule on Wednesday. The Leathernecks will be traveling to four tournaments in non-conference play, heading to Rosemont, Ill., Honolulu, Hawai'i, Murray, Ky., and St. Charles, Mo. After four weekends of non-con tournaments, WIU opens its second season in the OVC on the road against Southern Indiana on March 8.

"We're excited about the schedule we have lined up for 2025. There's a good mix of new locations to travel to, as well as midweek home games," said Leatherneck Head Coach Alisa Goler. "I know our group is looking forward to experiencing year two in the OVC and seeing the campuses/facilities of the teams in the conference that we did not travel to last year. We hope to see familiar faces out at Mary Ellen!"

The Leathernecks open the season in the Rosemont Dome, as WIU travels to the Rosemont Dome Tournament on February 8 & 9, a tournament hosted by DePaul. The following weekend, the Leathernecks take a long trip to the island of O'ahu, as they'll participate in the Hawai'i Spring Fling Softball Tournament. The tournament will take place from February 13-15, before Leathernecks say Aloha and head to Murray, Ky. The Leathernecks return to the Velvet Milkman Classic, a site where the Leathernecks went 2-3 in 2024. The tournament, hosted by Murray State, will happen from February 21-23. Their last tournament is another repeat from 2024, as WIU heads back to St. Charles to compete in the Lindenwood Invite, from March 1-2. Last year, Western Illinois went 3-1 in St. Charles.

The Ohio Valley Conference season sees the Leathernecks play all other nine schools in a three-game series, with four coming on the road and five at home. Western opens the 2025 OVC season in Evansville at Southern Indiana, on March 8 & 9.

Western Illinois plays its first of 19 home games in the year on March 12, hosting Saint Louis. The midweek matchup against the Billikens is the first of four standalone home games for the Leathernecks, as WIU hosts Bradley on March 18, Drake on March 25, and Kansas City on April 16. Western Illinois travels to Champaign for their only other non-conference standalone game of the year, taking on the Illini on Eichelberger Field on April 1.

WIU's longest homestand of the season is their first, as after playing Saint Louis the Leathernecks welcome Southeast Missouri State to Macomb for a conference series from March 15-16. Following the Bradley home matchup, Western travels to Cookeville to meet Tennessee Tech, from March 22-23. Then, the Leathernecks have back-to-back home weekends, bringing in UT Martin on March 29 & 30 and Tennessee State on April 5 & 6.

After participating in the Lindenwood Invite earlier in the year, WIU goes back to Saint Charles on April 12 & 13, battling the Lions in a three-game set. Then, it's back at McKee for the Leathernecks as they face SIUE on April 18 & 19.

The last two series of the year see WIU head down to Morehead State on April 26 & 27, before closing out the year at home against Eastern Illinois on May 3 & 4.

The Ohio Valley Conference Tournament, held at the Louisville Slugger Sports Complex in Peoria, will host the top eight finishers of the ten teams in the conference. Held from May 7-10, the Leathernecks will look to qualify for the tournament in their second season in the conference.
