Leathernecks Wrap Up ANF Fall Classic

MACOMB, IL – Western Illinois Men's Golf Team headed to the ANF Fall Classic hosted by the University of Iowa for their first fall tournament. The Leathernecks finished in 11th place out of the 13 teams, scoring 913 (+49).

In his Leatherneck debut, Baptiste Labeyrie led WIU with an overall 227 (+11) score to finish T-44. Labeyrie started with a 76 and then a 79 in round two. Labeyrie turned it up in the final round, posting an even par 72. 

David Ayala was right there with Labeyrie the entire tournament, as he finished with T-44 as well. The senior from Columbia posted an even first round before falling down the leaderboard in rounds two and three.

Mateo Rascon finished his Leatherneck debut with a T-47 performance. The Burlington, Iowa native started his collegiate career with an even round 72 before posting a 76 and 80 in rounds two and three. Rascon finished with an overall score of 228 (+12)

The Leathernecks are back in action on September 18-19 at the Valpo Fall Invitational.
