Leathernecks Set for Brittany Kelly Classic

Last Time Out | Western Illinois The Western Illinois women's golf team wrapped up their first week of play at the MSU/Payne Stewart Memorial on Tuesday (9/12) afternoon. The Leathernecks finished in 16th out of the 17-team field.

Natalie Hooper led the team with a 59th-place finish. Hooper succeeded in round two in the latter half of the front nine. She would knock down three in six holes to finish -1 on the front nine. In the 54-hole event, Hooper would have eight birdies.

Olivia McCrystal finished her Leatherneck debut placing T-72. McCrystal was consistent through all three rounds, posting a +8 overall score in every round of the three-round event. The Northern Ireland native saw five birdies fall on the tournament.

Returning Big Names | Western Illinois returns many golfers from last season. Headlining the returners are Natalie Hooper and Olivia Kerr. Hooper and Kerr appeared in every match for the Leathernecks last season. Hooper finished third at WIU Intercollegiate at TPC Deere Run the previous season.

Golf Course | The Brittany Kelly Classic takes place at The Players Club golf course in Yorktown, IND. The course is a par 72 that plays 6226 yards. The Brittany Kelly Classic will be a three-round tournament, with rounds one and two being played on the first day and round three on day two.

Competition | Ball State, Cleveland State, Dayton, Eastern Michigan, IUPUI, Loyola, Ohio, Purdue Fort Wayne, UIC, UNC Asheville, Valparaiso, Western Illinois and Western Michigan.
