Keyana Cruse Earns OVC Offensive Player of the Week Honors

BRENTWOOD, TN – Keyana Cruse has been named the Ohio Valley Conference Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday. This award is the first WIU Offensive Player of the Week selection since 2017 and the first selection as an OVC member.

Keyana was the leading force for Western Illinois offense at the Cougar Classic. The junior had two matches with 23+ kills, helping her average over 20 kills per match. The Bonner Springs native helped the Leathernecks to their first conference victory with 23 kills in Saturday night's matchup. She was targeted 78 times off the serve and had 0 reception errors. Keyana scored 70 points for WIU over the three-game weekend.

After winning their last two matchups, the Leathernecks will look to extend their winning streak at Missouri State as they will take on Arkansas State and the hosts Missouri State on Friday, September 15th.
